That shrimp and broccoli in orange-ginger sauce I mentioned a few posts back turned out pretty well. I think I should've used a little less orange juice and little more cornstarch, because the sauce wasn't as thick as I would've liked. But otherwise, it was very tasty.
I've decided to have another wine and cheese party in September, possibly the 15th. I'm not firm on the date yet. I'll send out the invites in a couple of weeks. Several friends have been asking me when I'm going to have another one, because they've enjoyed the previous ones so much. Gotta give the public what they want! I'm going to try to get some of my current co-workers to come, as well as people from my most recent job. It'll be fun to see what happens when worlds collide.
I have today off from work, so I made a decent breakfast for myself: waffles with blueberry sauce. I can't say enough about frozen blueberries. They cook up quickly, even straight from the freezer, so you don't need to take time to thaw them. And they taste great with homemade waffles. Right now I'm eating avocado tostados for lunch. I took a corn tortilla and smeared it with vegetarian refried beans, sprinkled shredded cheese on it, and microwaved it until the cheese melted. Then I put a couple of slices of avocado on it and topped it off with some salsa. Es muy sabroso! That's it for now. Have a great weekend!
