Easter dinner recap

I think the dinner was a success. People stayed fairly late, which is a good sign (of course, I'm sleep deprived and exhausted today, but it was worth it). By far the item people liked the best was the homemade orange/vanilla ice cream. Everyone commented that it tasted like a Dreamsicle. I'll definitely make that again. I took the recipe for French vanilla ice cream from Mark Bittman's "How To Cook Everything" and added the zest of one orange to the milk. After the custard was cooked, I strained out the zest. Easy enough!
