Dining With Strangers

This week I attended a dinner at Havana hosted by Grub With Us. It's a really interesting concept: GWU books the dinner and works with the restaurant to come up with a family-style menu. When you make the reservation, you pre-pay for the food (drinks are billed separately at the end of the meal), print out a meal ticket and place card, and then show up at the designated time. I was apprehensive about dining with complete strangers, but everyone at this dinner was delightful. It was great to get out of the house and meet some new people and to try a new restaurant, especially since I love Cuban food. I definitely plan to attend future dinners whenever my schedule (and finances) allow. I haven't had that much fun on a night out in a very long time.
